On one hand this is a great start. I did play it all the way through twice so that i could find the secret levels. I think that the controls, etc. work fine.
But at the same time the game feels really unfinished. There are what I am certain are unintended ways around some of the levels. (like dropping off the edge of the screen and coming back on further down or hopping over a wall rather than climbing the tunnels). Even though I thought the random fodder enemies were funny, they didn't really qualify as enemies as they don't do anything and can't hurt you. 'Bosses' could also be skipped by just landing in the correct spot. And finally the commands you don't need. Ground pound didn't seem to do anything more than jumping on people and i actually forgot that sprint was there until just before writing this review (so that is how I was 'supposed' to make that jump that I circumvented) so it wasn't needed either.
Oh, and just kind of a pet peeve, the platforms blending into the background. Not cool.
Even though I liked that you tried to do some perspective shift with the background it turned out really erratic and ended up being more distracting/annoying than anything. But at least you tried.
I think you have a pretty good set up for a platform game. I liked that you added secret levels which were kind of nice and gave me a smile. I think you need to do some finessing and add some story to your game and you could have something really fun. I gave this a 3/5 and 4 stars, kind of split the difference between what you posted and the potential for what you could do. Keep up the good work.
It seems like a fun game. However I can't tell if level 25 is bugged or I am just not getting what you are supposed to do. As soon as the level starts two metal balls fall down. You have one tire disconnected and the best you can do seems to be to not get pushed off the screen. I assume the idea is that you either need to jump into the 'net' before the balls come down. or get out of the way of the ball that hits you and either jump in or push the ball in. or move further in the way to get the ball itself to bounce in. None of this seems to work out too well. But up to this point it was pretty fun.
Also I was a bit annoyed with how easily the car flipped over.
I have not even played it through all the way yet. This is pretty fun. The instructions are clear. The puzzles are easy, but that and destroying things makes this really quite relaxing. Have not found a single bug or problem with it.
I don't know. I am on the fence. The animation and sound is really good, but we didn't get any story or humor in the pilot, though there was a bit of drama when the one dude was a dick and rowed away). So I definitely want you to make another one so we can get a better idea of what it is about.
By the way, if there is more on your youtube I didn't watch that so, just let us know.
Overall a solid 4/5 and 3.5 stars. The missing points basically go to the lack of story. But really man awesome art and sound. Your story would have to be pretty bad for this to not be good.
Cheers man, much appreciated. We purposely didn't include much plot or details into this so it serves more as a teaser/trailer. Just like a sneak-peek at the characters and setting. Definitely many more to come, including a very vast and detailed story line ;)
Advice.. Hmmm. Advice.. Oh I have some. Please don't upload content that isn't yours:
This video was uploaded to youtube by Frosty6209 on Aug 17, 2010 he says "This was my first madness animation and this is also my first youtube video. All sprites and such were created by Krinkels (not me). More animation will to come but takes me awhile to make one (3-4 weeks to make this one)."
You are only supposed to submit your own content. This has been reported. In fact, just so you know I have looked over everything you have ever submitted and found that in all cases you violated TOS. I have reported you on those as well. Good day.
This game is actually by Newgrounds user Louissi (which it says on the title screen), though it is not on newgrounds it is on his armor games profile. Like I have said to all of the others. Please only submit your own original work. This is not yours, and it is sad that you even go so far as to talk about how long it took you to make. I have contacted both the admins and the original author.
The very first bit of the 'in addition to our Terms of Service' states "You must be the creator and owner of the content you are submitting."
To anyone who is submitting stolen flashes Newgrounds is not Dumpinggrounds, it has been around for over a decade, and I have been a part of it for almost 8 years. Even compared to the spam crews this whole submitting stolen work thing is low. We may no longer have reporting system while under judgement but there are users who will recognize and report this and other TOS violations, because we want to keep Newgrounds a place worth being.
Well... Although I think I understand what you may be going for here there is a bit of a problem. "You are only allowed to have 2 unfinished characters at once". For those of us who actually wanted to test your game until we have some other option this is rather where it ends for us.
I did, however, go into the world with a character someone else had generated. I was the only one in there and I experienced no lag. There are no items or any such things yet in the game so I cannot comment much on game play.
I assume the keys at the bottom are hotkeys for items?
I think you should frame out the inventory, stats, and hotkeys along the bottom or make them collapse into the current stats image. Putting info on all 4 sides of the play screen can be confusing, and annoying. On that note you should also move all 'menu' commands together.
Finally the styles don't really match between the menus and the game area.
Other than the organization and the styles matching, I don't really have much to comment on, because there isn't much here. Very alpha.
Thank you for your comment, it seems you have stumbled upon a bug. I looked at the database after your comment, and noticed there are two characters on the trial account. Both characters have been completed and are in use. Most likely a mistake with a SELECT statement. We will fix this ASAP.
the keys at the bottom and side are for both items and spells, much of the UI was taken from WoW.
You describe a cleaner interface, we may very well use those ideas. Thank you again!
one question: What do you mean by "do not match"? The colors, or... ?
That's the only question. Thanks again, you've been very helpful.
Edit: The issue has been fixed. It was a SELECT statement.
I might develop this into a small series depending on the reaction it gets. It started out with Ned being picked to be Megapope's 13th disciple or as MP would call it "best friend." So I might continue with that and put them in a few other situations. thanks for the comment!
Well.. My problem with this, and why I am giving it only 1 star, is that I couldn't understand a bloody word 'she' was supposed to be saying. I mean not a single one. I could guess from the visuals that it said something about ugly people shouldn't breed and that you can get laid by an attractive person if you have a good personality (lol), but nothing actually from the dialogue. Find someone (preferably a female) to re-voice it and it may be worth a second look.
Sorry but that is how i see it (or more importantly hear it).

That was bloody hillarious. 5's across the board. Is this a one-of, or will this be an ongoing tale? I want more mega pope! Keep up the great work!
